D.J. Bakie Elementary Recycles

The Kingston-Bakie PTA is happy to announce we have an alternative to our Paper Drives, which were discontinued due to the collection facility closing.

ABITIBI BOWATER Consolidated Recycling division has placed one of their green and yellow PAPER RETRIEVERS at the Bakie School for the collection of ONLY the following items:

  • Newspapers
  • Magazines
  • Office and School papers
  • Shopping catalogs
  • Mail
  • Brown Paper Bags - ONLY if filled with paper as described above.

The following items are NOT allowed in the PAPER RETRIEVER:

  • Plastic (including bags)
  • Glass
  • Metals
  • Trash
  • Cardboard including brown packing paper, cereal boxes, food cartons, wrappers and/or containers
  • Tissue/paper towels
  • Telephone books

The public is encouraged to use the PAPER RETRIEVER as long as it remains free of the non paper items listed above.

For safety reasons we ask that you limit the use of the PAPER RETRIEVER to after 4:00pm on school days or wait for the weekends.

Since it is self-service, use of the PAPER RETRIEVER is at your own risk. If you should experience any difficulty placing paper into the bin or you feel that it may be too difficult for you, please do not attempt it and contact the President of the P.T.A. Michele Thomas.

We hope this helps our community with it’s commitment to the environment. Thank you for your cooperation and continued support.
